Marnie will be sharing her perspectives on this leading-edge organisation and seeking feedback from the audience on issues facing the New Zealand spatial industry.
Her topics include an overview of WALIS, SLIP (Shared Land Information Platform) and State-wide coordination and collaboration (SSI, ASIBA, WINGIT, WALIS and the CRC-SI).
Marnie has spent the past 10 years working for the Western Australian government and held positions in the Department of Agriculture and the Water and Rivers Commission prior to joining WALIS two years ago. Her main area of expertise is in natural resource management and she has lived and worked in a number of countries, including New Zealand, Switzerland and Syria. She also holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Lyon II in France. Marnie is currently deputy chair of the SSI WA Region Committee and was the Inaugural Chair of WinGIT (Women in Geographic Information Technology).
